The existing health care facilities in the North Nazimabad area are all beyond the affordability of the low income households of Banaras, KattiPahari and Orangi Town, leading to a generous donation from Mr. Ibrahim Patel to establish a free of charge clinic in this area. The Pakistani communities from Fresno, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh contribute for the operation of this clinic.

The Aga Khan University Hospital has also formed a partnership with the ChildLife and SINA to send students and residents from their institute to the Patel Clinic, as it has been named.

Since its inauguration in June 2013, the Patel Clinic has been treating over 1200 children every month ensuring the health of the country’s future.
